- Why do we want “power” in our churches? Isn’t a deeper relationship with God the real purpose of it all? I’m not being heretical, I’m just curious if the prayer for “God give us power” isn’t a misdirection of God’s real purpose. Are we actually praying for our “lust for power” to be fulfilled rather than praying for God to take over our lives and live through us?
- Al Mohler as candidate for president of the SBC. Hmmm. Not sure how I really stand on that. I like most of his writings that I have read, but this whole “Calvinism” issue bothers me.
- I think it’s wrong to pray for sports teams to “win”, but if any of you feel otherwise, pray for the Tarheels against Clemson…
- Praise God for the $677 refund check from the bank last night! Champion Credit Union is the best!
- I’m letting the church website get out of date, just from all the hustle and bustle of the season. To Crossroadians, my apologies! It’s gonna be re-done soon!
- Travis is learning to play chess… He’s five. He’s not very good, yet.
- Kristi is learning to argue. A lot. With passion and fervor. Oh, boy.
- I’ve signed up to pray for 7 people “forever” at Mission to Amish People. Not sure if I will financially support the ministry or not – I’m exploring – but I will definitely pray for the salvation of these people by name. I think this is a GREAT idea.
