Casting Crowns

The miracle that has been Casting Crowns now begins to change

They’ve always said that when God is done with CC, that will be fine with them.  I’m not God, and I don’t know what He plans for them in the future, but I’ve appreciated the fact that they are just people making music and feeling blessed by the opportunities.

Drummers are a dime a dozen.  There are lots of people who play drums and play them well.

But I think Andy was more than a drummer.  He was part of the heart and soul of Casting Crowns, and I expect that things will change a lot for CC.

My personal attraction to ANY band is their ability to stay together.  I admire that in churches, workplaces, sports teams, Nascar teams, and virtually anything that I follow.  I don’t like to see band members “move on”.  I’ve been hurt by a band “moving on” without me.

I’m big on stability with constant change.

In other words, I like to see a steady group of people changing the world around them, rather than being changed by situations.

I wish Casting Crowns the very best, and I wish Andy the very best.  But I feel that this is the end of their era.  They may continue to minister in a totally awesome fashion, but the real “punch” of CC will change.  Possibly for the better.  Third Day has undergone a similar change.  I didn’t like it, either.

Call me weird.

The more things change, the more they stay the same!

I remember when a big departure rocked my favorite CC band (Caedmon’s Call). Things are never the same, but once you get past that, you can look forward to the good new stuff that lies ahead. of course, some people never get past it, and that’s okay too.

I haven’t been visiting my fave blogs in awhile since it has been crazy here, but wanted to try to catch up some. AWW I loved Casting Crowns.. but it does happen. Even when all the same band members stay together, but they may try a different style of music for a change I usually don’t like it. I know they need to change and grow sometimes, but I get set in what I like.

  4. Bryan – Wow! I’ve been visited by the great PFBer! Thanks for stopping in, man. I love Mark Hall’s songwriting and I think they have much “in them”, but I guess I just wonder, if God called them as a group, if this is the beginning of a change in what God’s gonna have for them.

Breezy – it will definitely change the band. No way around that. Drummers are incredibly central to a band sound.
