Daily Bread…
5 Mar
I am officially hopelessly behind on my scheduled daily reading to completely read the Bible this year. At least, by the plan I was following.
I learned a lot. Even in what I was able to do.
Re-evaluation time. I still intend to read the whole thing through.
The time frame is the question, combined with the fact that I don’t want to speed read the Bible just so I can “say” that “I’ve read it all!” That seems highly counter-productive.

I don’t think I have to explain where I would fall down on this one. I agree with Dr. Piper 110%. His second to last graph says it ALL.
Amen. AMEN.
As a girl, I want guys to know how to respect and protect me.

B, absolutely right. It’s quality, not quantity. It’s not how much He wants to say to you in your readings, it’s what He’s trying to get you to learn.
I was studying with my wife the other day and we hit 2 Kings 19, where Sennacherib, king of Assyria, was coming at Judah and overnight, 185,000 of his men were killed by God in answer to prayer(much left out in this synopsis). That’s the population of some pretty good sized cities here in America – wiped out like that *snap*. 185,000. And that was just to make a point that God is not to be mocked, but feared. I would have missed that if I hadn’t really read it.
But that’s why it’s “quality time,” right?
