Protection wasn’t the issue, bro. This was a forward fall onto the hands. Wrist protectors might have saved some wrist pain but would have still caused this break, probably. Elbow pads, likewise, would not have helped, I don’t think, since I didn’t land on my elbow in the classical sense.
Perhaps a padded cell would have been sufficient protection, but short of that…
