Physical #Fitness – August 14, 2009 – Addictions

Most folks who want to improve their fitness have some kind of addiction that they need to kick.
A big one for me is Mountain Dew. For some, it’s smoking. For some, it’s junk food. For some, it’s even more serious.
Just conquering the addiction is often tough, but a determination to truly change your lifestyle is more important. Your health matters. Any positive step you take is important.
- Conquering any addiction takes time. It’s okay to admit that. This means you’ll fall off the wagon sometimes. Get back on and forget about it.
- Don’t concentrate on ways to beat the addiction. This makes you think about the addiction, which makes you desire the very thing you are trying to avoid.
- Focus on the new you. If you’re after a smaller waistline, keep those new clothes sizes in your mind. If you’re after rock hard abs, focus on them. Positive focus, not negative.
- Take pride in doing a difficult thing. Don’t let your addictions conquer you. You are stronger than your addiction.

Artificial sweeteners + Bernard = terrible headache. That blood-brain barrier of mine just can’t withstand the assault. No diet or sugar free ANYTHING for me. But thanks fo de tip!
