About

So, for a good while now, I’ve had an “About” page that was a template default.

Yuk.

Sorry.

I’m the husband of a beautiful lady, the father of two wonderful children, and a follower of Jesus Christ.

I’m a mechanical engineer by education and some combination of engineer / designer / project manager by actual trade.  I use AutoCAD, SolidWorks, RSLogix, and other strange sounding software in addition to MS Word and Excel.

I’m a halfway decent pianist and a wanna-be guitar player.  Sometimes I sing.  When I sing in casual surroundings nobody thinks I’m any good.  In a formal setting they listen better.  They probably still don’t think I’ve good but I get compliments sometimes.

I once played guitar in a “worship band”, but that has been 5 or so years, and will probably never happen again – for a lot of reasons.

I used to play golf until I broke my arm on Friday, March 13, 2009.  It will be a while.

I drive a red Jeep Cherokee.

I used to do a good bit of photography but that habit has greatly faded in the past couple years.  No good reason why, other than the fact that my beautiful wife has gotten really good at it and there is no need in duplicating her efforts, especially at lower quality.

I play a good bit of chess on www.chess.com.  I’m not very good.

I once started a small “website setup / design” business for local small businesses.  It didn’t do very well.

I twitter.

I facebook.

I work on my own vehicles a lot.  Well, I did, until I broke my arm.

I was learning to ride a skateboard.  Yes, I’m almost 41.  Yes, I fell.  Yes, that’s when I broke my arm.

Elbows heal really slowly.

I like computers.  But I also like to be outdoors.

I like guns.  But I’m also a very peaceful guy.

I like the UNC Tar Heels and the Green Bay Packers.

My life of following Christ is best illustrated by a man who continually falls on his face yet stubbornly keeps getting back up and trying to take another step.
