Duke 64, UNC 54

11 Feb

It’s a tough year to be a ‘Heels fan, but I still love Carolina Blue.

As a Christian, it’s easy to give up when the record gets this bad, but the games keep coming.  Sin keeps hitting us, never tiring.

Get up.  Keep fighting to win.  The past is discouraging but cannot be changed.

Always give it all.

UNC 77, NCSU 63

The losing streak is finally snapped as the Heels bring one home from the road.

You know it stinks when the game is so critical yet you can’t hardly find the score because neither team is ranked.

Wake up, Tar Heels.  Y’all looking so bad that I’m actually excited about Nascar.

And that is BAD.

The Wing

26 Jan

So glad that Nascar is returning to the spoiler instead of that awful wing.  So glad bump drafting is not “illegal”, as well.

Now to get rid of that stinking yellow line rule and the freaking Chase.

Now to give the crew chiefs their wrenches back and let the boys work on the cars.  I’m no Jimmy Johnson fan, but for crying out loud let Chad Knaus do what he’s good at – “cheating”.  (Cheating, in Nascar, is the ability to find something that the rules hounds haven’t technically outlawed and make it work to your advantage.  It’s not Biblically supported, but it’s not Biblically addressed, either, and it’s what makes Nascar fun.)

The sport has totally STUNK since the invention of “the Chase”, but maybe there’s hope.

Although, if you TELL everybody that “more character” will be allowed, it’s not quite the same.

The Packers fight the snow, too…

10 Dec

When it snow six, eight, or ten inches in my neck of the woods, getting to work can be, to say the least, quite a struggle. For one thing, I don’t own a snow-blower or a plow, and I can’t justify the cost of such for the one or two times per year that such an even occurs. For a second thing, our local and state governments are faced with the same problem – it takes a lot of expensive equipment to be able to effectively handle large amounts of snow, and it doesn’t happen OFTEN around here. So, when it does, all of our hills and curves can be a massive problem.

It happens, however, fairly often in Green Bay, Wisconsin, home of my beloved Packers.

It’s refreshing, in a way, to read an honest account of how yesterday’s snowfall affected the team…

Packers 27 Ravens 14

Looks like we have a legitimate cotender for the wild card game on our hands, thanks to AT LEAST three interceptions late in the fourth by Collins and Williams. Go Packers!!!
