I Like the Pack

12 Nov

I LIKE the Packers.

I like Daryn Colledge – I love his “Colledge Experience” videos.  I like the fact that he wears boots.  (I love boots.  If I’m not wearing tennis shoes, I’m wearing boots.  Simple.)

I like Aaron Rodgers.  I like the fact that he wears toboggans and looks good in them.  (I love toboggans; now I’m just trying to develop a hairstyle that looks cool when I take OFF the ‘boggin…)

I like Nick Barnett.  I love his Tweets.  (That sounds, well, like way too much information.  Not so.)

I like AJ Hawk.  I like Aaron Kampman and his Christian testimony.  I like Donald Driver.  I like Nick Collins.  I really like Donald Lee.  Jermichael Finley.  Mark Tauscher.  Jordy Nelson.  Ryan Grant.  Al Harris.  Charles Woodson.  Clay Matthews.  Spencer Havner.  Ahman Green.

I just LIKE these guys.  They seem like they would be a cool bunch to hang out with.  They laugh.  They cut up.  They seem to genuinely enjoy life.  Barnett loves that stupid air horn on his big red truck.  He loves his dog.

But they’ve gotta get it together.

Here’s hoping that their “come-to-Jesus” meeting on Monday actually gets them in gear and they can at least make a respectable showing against the Cowgirls

Mike McCarthy’s Gotta Go

9 Nov

I love my Packers, but dadjim.

I’m no sportswriter and hardly deserve to even have an opinion, but the carnage has got to stop.

I vote that we end the McCarthy Era.  Ted Thomson as well.

Gee whiz.

#Packers 23, #Vikings 30

I want to be gracious in defeat, because goodness knows that the Vikings truly won the game.  Brett Favre really is probably the best quarterback of all time.  Truly a legend.  Still.

Regardless, he’s a traitor.  I will always think of him as such.

Congratulations to the Vikings and to all the fans.  I hope you enjoy your day of making the Cheesehead Nation feel stupid.  It doesn’t take much right now.  Our offensive line couldn’t stop the Bethel Termites.  Our defense, at least, did contain Adrian Peterson, but that other old man sure had our number.  Rodgers even threw a pick.

It’s a sad day to wear the Green and Gold, but I continue to hope.  My son asked me last night if I was now a Carolina Panthers fan.  I was taking it pretty hard, so I guess that he thought I was going to abandon the Pack.

No, it’s not like that, but I’m pretty stinking disgusted with Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy, let’s just say that.

Physical Fitness – September 20, 2009 – Football

20 Sep

I love football.  That, to those across any of the ponds, is AMERICAN football.  Not soccer.  Sorry, I can’t help it.  I really do wish that I were man enough to run for the requisite hours that are required for soccer, but I cannot.

Neither am I man enough to play my kind of football.

But I love to watch it.

Today, my Green Bay Packers play Ocho Cinco and the Cincinnati Bengals.  It’s not really a major game, but I still admire all the work that these men put into playing a game that I love to watch.

They encourage me.  Football is difficult – it requires incredible conditioning, training, and a lot of thinking.

One of the reasons I am trying to get into better shape is because these guys encourage me.

What encourages you?

Kurt Warner

While I hope the Cards win the Super Bowl, I wish Kurt Warner wasn’t quite so perfect…  What a great guy, seriously.  Funny that he was cut by the Packers, though.  Not funny in a mean way, just ironic.

I kinda like Polamalu, too, though.

Steelers defense is awesome.  I’m a defense kinda guy.

Another post soon on the defensive changes in Green Bay, but let’s get this Super Bowl done…
